What is the difference between data card and Wi-Fi?

I’m 10+2 student from Delhi. I use HP Pavilion DV2-1003AX laptop with Reliance data-card. Many times my friends have asked me about the difference between Wi-Fi and data card. I know something about this is not enough to explain them, can anyone explain difference between data card and Wi-Fi?

mariarita 		Wireless Internet is a cellular based broadband service which is used to connect via a data card installed on your laptop. Where a cellular data network is available you are able to connect internet through data card of particular company. Speed of this connection is up to 3 Mbps.

WiFi is wireless LAN or a wireless network. Wi-Fi allows you to connect one or more wi-fi capable devices without cable or wire. Wi-Fi uses TCP/IP to connect with devices and the signals are brodcast using 802.11g, 802.11b, 802.11a, or 802.11n IEEE technology. These technologies enhance their bandwidth speeds. Wi-Fi connections are joined with Broadband connections so that clients on the networks access to the Internet.
