The PST File is giving “Disk Full” Error Message ?

I am having Windows XP Pro with MS Office 2007 edition with FAT32 file format. The main PST file is of 4GB and the maximum memory it can accommodate is over 20 GB. Today what happened is that when I am trying to open the PST file to add some data in it, I am getting an error message stating that the PST file has reached its limit and need to delete certain items in order to write anything in that file. Apart from that there is about 50GB of free space in the hard drive.

I really don’t understand why such a thing is happening and how should I fix this problem of mine? I have searched the internet and all but could not find a possible answer for my problem.

Another problem that I am facing now is that some of the PST files were password protected whose password I have forgotten. Can anybody tell me of some genuine PST password recovery software? I have searched the internet and I am quite confused regarding which software to opt for. So, I need some suggestions about some good recovery software.

I don’t think that the problem is with the memory of the PST file. The Windows XP is able to handle FAT32 partition up to 128 GB. So, the problem of maximum memory limit reached by the PST file is completely eliminated. I would recommend you to first do complete Outlook PST Backup and then run the command CHKDSK/F on the partition. After that run the command SCANpst against your PST file. By doing so, you will be able to get rid of your problem.

If you want to avoid such problems in the future, it is advisable to convert the FAT32 partition to NTFS. NTFS file system is better than the NTFS file system. The FAT32 file system loses the file fragments very easily and has a very weak security.

Losing passwords for the PST file is not a new thing. This thing occurs with me very often. I use Nucleus PST Password Recovery software to recover the lost passwords. I am quite comfortable using this software and you can try out this software. Apart from this software you can also opt for other recovery software like Stellar Phoenix, Kernel etc. They are equally very god recovery software.
