Viruses are really major threats for precious applications, files, PC and Exchange Server Database also. If your mailbox got virus infected mails, after a short period it will damaged your whole mailbox or even entire edb files (Exchange Server Database). In these situation all of the stored data in the edb may become inaccessible and finally into data loss. At this stage you need EDB repair through an appropriate application.
During recovery or repairing edb files, you need to removal or deletion of infected messages and e-mails from your all the mailbox on Exchange Server. For this purpose, you need to use ExMerge.exe (Exchange Mailbox Merge) application. The ExMerge tool is designed for copying mailbox data in the PST (Personal Storage File), which you can import to another mailbox.
To remove virus infected messages and emails from your mailbox, following steps are needed:
• Setup ExMerge application and run ExMerge wizard
• Select “Extract/Import” on procedure selection page and click on Next button.
• Select Step 1 and click Next on Step Procedure page.
• On Source Server page, select Options and after that User messages & folders on Data tab in Data Selection Criteria page.
• Now backup the messages (e-mails) as PST file and easily import from the mailboxes.
But when situation becomes more critical, you should go for powerful and professional a third party application for complete recovery or repair edb files.
