How to fix error message ‘video audio codecHelper has stopped working’ while converting MKV videos?

I was trying to convert a MKV file to other format using ‘4U Video Converter’ software and when I clicked the ‘Convert’ button to initiate the conversion windows says ‘video audio codecHelper has stopped working’ and display a button saying close the programme. I don’t know what this error is all about and how to fix it. I am using Mac OS X Leopard OS with Core 2 Duo processor. Any suggestion or help will be appreciated Thank you.

johnsharp 		I guess it is something related to the codec of your converter which is causing issues while conversion. Actually codecHelper plays a vital role in converter software as it is responsible for transformation of one codec to another and if it is not working then conversion will not be possible. So, according to me you must use any other software to resolve the issue. Since you are using Mac system MKV Converter for Mac will suit your need.
