I totally agree to your point that iTunes have very limited list in terms of backing up of iPhone items while syncing. The backup includes settings of some selective applications, mail and calendar account settings, paired devices, book marks, auto-fill data’s, preference of third party data, mail passwords, Wi-Fi accounts and little more things.
