Outlook mails get deleted ?

My outlook was performing too slowly so I decided to rearrange all the PST files and achieves. Some of the PST files were easily fragmented into small size but some files neither accessed not fragmented. My friend suggested me to repair the file which is not being opened. So I want to know what the procedure to repair a corrupt outlook file is.
